It was one of the talking points on Thursday during the one-sided game between Kandy Tuskers and Galle Gladiators.
The inaugural edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) is currently in progress with some top international cricketers taking part in it. A total of five teams are fighting it out for the glory and quality of cricket being played in the tournament is also world class. Galle Gladiators and Kandy Tuskers locked horns in the 19th match of the tournament with the former side winning the crucial game.
However, more than the game, an interesting conversation between Azam Khan and Dale Steyn has gone viral. The South African speedster made his debut in the competition against Jaffna Stallions after completing his quarantine period according to the protocols. He returned with the figures of 2/33 in his four overs helping the Tuskers to restrict the opposition to 150.
During his spell though, Dale Steyn came up with a fishing celebration after taking each of his wickets. It went viral on social media and Azam Khan, on Thursday, decided to take a hilarious dig at him when he came out to bat. The incident took place when Steyn came out to bat at number nine for the Tuskers.
When he was about to take his stance, Azam Khan, who was behind the stumps, hilariously told Dale Steyn that he is a fisherman too. The South African pace bowler was stunned to know it and came up with a funny reaction as both the cricketers were engaged in a cheeky banter. It didn’t continue for long though as Steyn got out after scoring one run off five deliveries.

As far as the match is concerned, both Azam Khan and Dale Steyn couldn’t do much with the former not needing to bat. Steyn, however, will be disappointed that he couldn’t provide crucial breakthroughs for his team while defending a modest total of 126 runs. But he bowled brilliantly conceding only 23 runs in his four overs.
Chasing 127 runs, the Gladiators rode on an unbeaten 94 from Danushka Gunathilaka to gun down the target in 17 overs itself. (crictracker)
