A doctor infected with COVID-19 is currently in a critical condition, the Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) said.
Speaking during a TV program, GMOA Deputy Secretary Dr. Navin De Soysa said the infected doctor is currently receiving treatment at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
Measures are being taken to coordinate with the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital to intensify his treatment, he said.
Dr. Navin De Soysa pointed out that Intensive Care Unit treatments are insufficient at times during such instances.
He said the coronavirus can only be defeated through the joint efforts of the Government, health officials, and the public. (NewsWire)
