Renowned Sri Lankan Billionaire businessman Dhammika Perera says the public do not need to worry with regard to Sri Lanka’s Dollar crisis.
The Fitch ratings recently revealed that Sri Lanka will be required to pay US$ 29.6 billion over the next five years in loans.
Speaking during an interview with Hari TV, Dhammika Perera said as a country Sri Lanka can fulfill this requirement, and there was no reason to panic.
“Sri Lanka owes a total of US$ 30 billion in loans. If you take Apple Inc. the company makes a complete profit of US$ 23 billion in three months. So from my point of view US$ 30 billion is not a large amount. If a phone company can make a profit of US$ 23 billion, we should not panic over Sri Lanka’s debt of US$ 30 billion,” he explained.
Stating that people should not worry over the debt crisis from a single person’s point of view, Dhammika Perera said the matter must be addressed from a country’s point of view. (NewsWire)
