Security personnel attached to 268 VIPs were informed about the possibility of an attack, retired DIG Lucien Priyalal said testifying yesterday (14) before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry probing the bombings on Easter Sunday, 21 April 2019.
Ministerial Security Division (MSD), the Judicial Security Division (JSD), the Diplomatic Security Division (DSD), and the Security Divisions of former Presidents Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga and Mahinda Rajapaksa, were under his supervision last year.
He said that MSD Director had informed all security officers handling VIP security about the possible attack.
