Easter attacks: “We are planning to exhume dead bodies to find if Sara is among the dead”

Minister of public security, Rear Admiral Sarath Weerasekara held a press conference yesterday to update about the current progress of investigations in to the Easter Attacks.

The Minister said the whereabouts of Sara, who is said to be the wife of the Katuwapitiya suicide bomber, is still not confirmed.

He also suggested that there is a possibility that she could be dead, as out of 11 people who died during the explosions in Saindhamarudu only 10 have been identified so far.

“We are planning to exhume these corpses and conduct a DNA test to compare the DNA samples obtained from Sara’s mother. She could be hiding in a different place after spreading a false information that she had fled to India, or might have died. Currently investigations are being carried out to determine this, ” he further said.
