EC Chief debunks assumptions on the election date with his wittiness once again
Election Commission Chief Mahinda Deshapriya disputed assumptions on the date of the general election by the former Southern and Uva Province Governor Keerthi Tennakoon.
The former governor had posted a Facebook status in Sinhala which meant “date of the Election has been finalised?”. The EC chief who’s popular online and offline for his wittiness and sarcasm, had commented in reply asking him “wonder who finalized the date?”
Election Commission will meet on the 20th to discuss about the General Election.
Minister Wimal Weerawansa speaking to media yesterday said that Government is positive that Election could be held before June 2nd.
