The vehicle of National People’s Power (NPP) leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s has been subjected to an egg attack at the NPP’s Gampaha District Convention held today (30).
The Gampaha District Convention of the National People’s Force was held at a private banquet hall in Kalagedihena this afternoon.
Party leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake was on his way to the venue when his vehicle was hit by eggs near the main entrance of the hall.
Party members have managed to apprehend 2 suspects in connection with the attack. They were later handed over to the Nittambuwa Police.
The suspects have stated that about 16 people had come with them. The rest of the gang had fled the scene. Police are conducting further investigations. (NewsWire)
