Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) Chairman Janaka Ratnayake says that the three members of the commission have made a u-turn and decided to back Cabinet calls to increase electricity tariffs.
He said that the members have decided to agree to the Government’s decision after influenced by President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The PUCSL Chairman said that the President had met the other three members of his commission without inviting him for the meeting.
“After the meeting they have informed me in writing that they are agreeing to the Cabinet decision,” he added.
Ratnayake further said, “I am against this decision, I will take legal action over these type of Political pressure given to members of an independent commission.” (NewsWire)
