Eliyantha White, a self-styled healer with close links to Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, has passed away while receiving medical treatment at a private hospital in Colombo.
Eliyantha White was receiving treatment for several weeks after contracting Covid-19 in mid August.
Who is Eliyantha White ?
Eliyantha Lindsay White is a self-styled spiritual healer from Colombo who treats mainly VIP’s and also uses herbs, and the personal physician for Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse. He claims to have healed ailments in many cricket players, including Lasith Malinga. He is not a registered medical practitioner.
The controversial White, recently drew public attention for dropping pots filled with a concoction into the rivers, as part of a ritual to eradicate COVID-19 from Sri Lanka.
This was followed by former Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi, Minister Udaya Gammanpila and Minister Prasanna Ranatunga also doing the same as part of a ritual. (NewsWire)
