Former Norwegian Minister Erik Solheim met former Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa in Colombo today.
Erik Solheim arrived in Sri Lanka on Monday (10) on a special visit to the island.
MP Mahinda Rajapaksa congratulated Solheim for his appointment as an International Climate Adviser to incumbent President Ranil Wickremesinghe and wished him all support in this new role.

Solheim and Mahinda Rajapaksa also held discussions on the negative impacts the conflict had on the Sri Lankan economy.
Commenting on the present economic crisis facing Sri Lanka, MP Mahinda Rajapaksa invited Norwegian investors to invest in the island, especially in assisting to strengthen the blue economy.
Pointing out that Norway could play a vital role in marine projects, he said that the government would provide all necessary assistance for such vital projects to be implemented.
In response, Erik Solheim assured Norway’s support to Sri Lanka and discussed ways on how both countries could further work together moving forward. (NewsWire)
