Authorities will analyze all areas placed under isolation due to the coronavirus pandemic to decide whether to lift or continue with the isolation from 05.00am on Monday (30).
Head of the Covid Task Force Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva said that a final decision on isolated areas will be taken after the analysis is conducted by health authorities and security officials today.
Attention will be focused on every Covid patient, their viral load, capacity of transmission, number of deaths reported in each area, and those placed in home quarantine during the analysis, he said.
The Army Commander said that if patients are being reported from one particular area in a Grama Niladhari Division or Police area, authorities are looking at the possibility of isolating that particular area, instead of the entire Grama Niladhari Division or Police area.
This move is being considered with an aim to provide relief to residents from other areas in the affected Police area or Grama Niladhari Division.
The Head of the NOCPC said they have also received reports of some individuals refraining from undergoing PCR tests in the Attalugama area in Bandaragama which is currently isolated.
A special operation is to be conducted today to inform such individuals in this regard and subject them to PCR tests, he said.
The Army Commander warned that the area will continue to be placed under isolation if individuals fail to adhere to the advise of health authorities to undergo PCR tests. (NewsWire)
