The Department of Irrigation today issued a warning for floods effective for the next two days.
The department warned that flash floods could occur due to the rise in the water levels of the Aththanagalla, Kalu, Kelani, Gin, Nilwala, or Mahaweli rivers.
People living in low-lying areas near the rivers have been requested to remain vigilant of floods during the next two days.
The public has also been warned to remain vigilant while using the rivers for boating, bathing, and other related activities.
