For the first time we are facing some issues in identifying how several patients got the virus – Army Commander

Health and Security officials are yet to discover how the 4 patients reported from several places from Colombo yesterday contracted the virus.

Army Commander Shavendra Silva said that for the first time they were facing some issues in finding how these patients got the virus. But he was hopeful that authorities would be able to find it within today.

20 patients identified yesterday and 15 of them were Navy Personnel. Remaining were from  Rajagiriya, Modera, Kolonnava and National hospital.

Patient identified from the National Hospital was a nurse.

Health DG Dr. Anil Jasinghe said there have been limited contacts of the COVID-19 infected nurse at the National Hospital as she and the Hospital had followed proper health practices.

“Previously when we identified patients we were able to find how they got the virus, but this time we are still not able to find how they got the virus. We are investigating it” Dr.Sudath Samaraweera. Chief Epidemiologist of Ministry of Health said
