Former Commissioner General of Examinations Mahinda Wijesiri was found dead inside his vehicle along the Horana- Kesbewa main road today.
The Piliyandala Police said Mahinda Wijesiri is a resident of Kahathuduwa in Polgasowita and a father of three.
The body of the former Government official had been found after the vehicle was inspected on suspicion as it had been parked outside a business establishment for over half an hour.
Upon information the Piliyandala Police had found the driver of the vehicle collapsed onto the passenger seat.
Relatives who were informed via Wijesiri’s phone that was in his possession at the time of death had identified the deceased.
Preliminary investigations reveal that Wijesiri had died while he was enroute to Nugegoda to pick his wife from his daughter’s residence. (Newswire)
