Former head of Jamaat e Islami organisation arrested by TID

Terrorist Investigation Division today arrested the former head of Jamaat e Islami organization Rasheed Hajjul Akbar on charges of promoting Wahhabism & Jihadist ideology in Sri Lanka.

Rasheed Hajjul Akbar headed the Jamaat e Islami organization for 24 years until last September 2019.

He was previously arrested over Easter Sunday Investigations and later released without any charges. (NewsWire)
