The Sri Lanka Police has been instructed to treat transgender persons with dignity.
According to Mawbima news, Fort Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage issued the order, stating that every gender should be treated with dignity.
The Court further said no person shall be suspected simply because their gender is different.
There have been multiple reports of individuals being ill treated by the Police based on their sexual orientation in Sri Lanka. (NewsWire)
