The prices of several items and services have increased in line with the hike in fuel prices.
The All Island Canteen Owners’ Association (AICOA) said that a decision has been taken to increase the prices of several food items.
President of the Association Asela Sampath said the prices of Koththu, fried rice, and rice packs have been increased by 10% due to the increase in fuel prices.
Asela Sampath said, however, that the prices of other food items have not been increased.
Meanwhile, import and export freight container transportation charges have also been increased.
The All Island United Container Transport Owners’ Association announced a 35% increase in import and export freight container transportation charges.
The Association further said that the price hike will come into effect from midnight today due to the rising cost of fuel and spare parts. (NewsWire)
