The Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivad Cabral says that Sri Lanka is now paying closer to what neighbouring countries such as India are paying for a liter of Petrol.
Comparative to a liter of premium petrol currently (lkr 210) in Sri Lanka, Indians are paying lkr 264.
He further stated that the country is unable to keep subsidising fuel this aggressively amidst the dollar crunch.
He added that by controlling supply, the outflow of foreign exchange for fuel will also be reduced. (NewsWire)
