Former Indian Cricket Captain, Gautam Gambhir said the Sri Lanka Cricket Team can be destructive and dangerous in T20Is.
He said “you can’t win the Asia Cup if you don’t have the talent. They’ve got individual brilliance, they’ve got the combination, they’ve got two world class spinners. How many teams has two world class spinners? Hasaranga and Theekshana. They can bowl in different situations as well.”
He went on to state that India cannot take the SL team lightly at any stage adding that SL has got players such as Kusal Mendis, Wanindu Hasaranga and Bhanuka Rajapakse.
He said “these players can be destructive and specially in the T20 format.”
He further added that the challenge for Sri Lanka will be 50 over format highlighting that in T20Is, SL has a very good side.
Gambhir also mentioned that SL’s Dilshan Madushanka has got all the talents despite the cricket community hasn’t seen much of him yet.
He said “the little we saw in the Asia Cup, we’ve to understand that he can bowl. Lahiru Kumara has got pace. So they’ve got all the ingredients to be a very good T20 side.“
