The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has uncovered a racket involving Litro Gas cylinders in Wellawatte.
The CAA said it had found that ten 12kg Litro Gas cylinders had been tampered with and did not contain the specified weight.
Only delivery trucks and mobile vendors have been permitted to operate during the islandwide travel restriction currently enforced in the country.
Apart from this, certain businesses have been permitted to operate as well, the Authority said.
The CAA said therefore, it has been conducting continuous operations to monitor the business in operation for the benefit of the consumers.
