GMOA to launch trade union action over 4 demands

The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) has decided to resort to a trade union action over the arbitrary decisions taken by the Health Ministry regarding the transfers of doctors.

In a letter addressed to subject Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, the GMOA said a final decision on the date and mode of the trade union action will be decided on 7th October 2021.

The GMOA has highlighted the following four key demands to be addressed by the Health Ministry;

  1. Effective date of Grade Medical Officers Annual Transfer list
  2. Issues related to Difficult Station List
  3. Delay in internship appointment
  4. Delay in Post Intern Appointments
