The Department of Meteorology has issued a Heat Index Advisory today for the Northwestern, North-central, Eastern, and Western provinces and the Monaragala, Mannar, Ratnapura and Vavuniya districts.
According to the department, the Heat index, which is the temperature felt on the human body, is expected to increase up to ‘Caution level’ in the abovementioned areas.
As per the advisory for caution level, fatigue is possible with prolonged exposure and activity, while continuing activity could result in heat cramps. (NewsWire)
