Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says the United National Party (UNP) has been cleared over the 2019 Easter Sunday terror attacks.
Speaking during an interview with Gravitas, Wickremesinghe said the Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to probe the Easter attacks is yet to issue its full report.
Wickremesinghe said the final report submitted thus far has acknowledged that he was not informed and there was no finding against any Ministers from the UNP.
The former Prime Minister said if you go by the criteria for political responsibility or the criteria for criminal responsibility there is no such thing as a lax attitude.
“How do you judge an attitude?” he questioned.
Ranil Wickremesinghe further said “I certainly haven’t tolerated extremism and I won’t.” (NewsWire)
