How much revenue did SLC earn from the Sri Lanka vs India series ?

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has gained a revenue of US$ 14.5 million via India’s recent cricket tour of Sri Lanka.

SLC Secretary Mohan de Silva said under the Future Tours Program, the tour was only for 3 One Day Internationals.

However, SLC President Shammi Silva had managed to persuade the Board of Control for Cricket in India to play an additional 3 Twenty- 20 Internationals.

This resulted in the enhancement of the commercial value and was made possible because of the relationship the SLC has cultivated with the Indian Cricket Board, he said.

Mohan de Silva further said the SLC received US$ 14.5 million from broadcasting and other rights like ground, etc.

“The fact that the BCCI and the Indian Government gave the blessings for their team to come to Sri Lanka during the pandemic times and meet their commitments was also due to the cordial relationships we have with the BCCI,” SLC Secretary pointed out.

The six-match white-ball series was played behind closed doors with no spectators allowed to attend the matches due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. (NewsWire)
