A tense situation was reported between the Chairman of the Maharagama Urban Council Tiraj Priyantha and a group of Police officers and Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) officials after the former’s father was arrested last night.
The incident had occurred after the Police and CEB officials had inspected the house of the MC Chairman based on a complaint that his father had illegally obtained electricity from the main transformer near the residence.
During the inquiry, the Chairman of the Maharagama Municipal Council is seen yelling at the Police officers and CEB officials who had visited his residence. (NewsWire)
