An inquiry is to be commenced against the Prison official who had permitted Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Harsha Rajakaruna to take a selfie with imprisoned SJB MP Ranjan Ramanayake.
MP Rajakaruna had taken the photograph during his visit to the Angunukolapelessa Prison yesterday to inquire into the wellbeing of MP Ramanayake.
The SJB MP had published the picture of himself and MP Ramanayake on his personal Facebook account.
State Minister of Prison Management and Prisoners’ Rehabilitation Lohan Ratwatte has ordered an inquiry into the Prison Official who was in charge at the time of MP Rajakaruna’s visit.
State Minister Ratwatte said MP Harshana Rajakaruna had violated his Parliamentary privileges by taking the selfie with MP Ramanayake.
He further said that a complaint will be filed against MP Harshana Rajakaruna in this regard to Speaker of the Parliament Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena. (NewsWire)
