A media conference was held on Friday (28) to clarify concerns about the Colombo Port City. It was chaired by Ministers Prof. G. L. Peiris, Ali Sabri and Ajith Nivard Cabraal.
Responding to question raised by journalists on whether investors from western countries will have concerns with the involvement of China, Minister of Education Prof. G. L. Peiris said that there is not such exclusivity.
“All investors are welcome, whatever country they come from” he said.
He also added that there are already serious inquiries from investors from western countries.
State Minister Ajith Nivard Cabraal added that already some investors have visited the Port City and shown interest.
He further went on to say that a school which is being built within the Port City will probably have a European name.
“The hospital that is coming up there will have a name Europeans will be very familiar with, it will come as a surprise” the state minister went on to say. (NewsWire)
