JVP led NPPs rapid response under 20 points to overcome current challenges

The National People’s Power (NPP) held its Party Convention titled ‘A promise of recovery for a shattered nation’ today.

At the event, the NPP presented a proposal under 20 points for laying the foundation to achieve the socio-economic transformation that Sri Lanka needs at present.

Addressing the convention, NPP leader MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake pointed out that “continuing on this disastrous path will endanger not only our lives but the lives of many generations to come, including those of our own children.”

Stating that Sri Lanka’s economy is heading towards a disastrous situation, he pointed out that there is a shortage of goods, forcing the prices to increase, while shipments of essential goods are also stuck in port.

Dissanayake further questioned whether Sri Lanka can meet is debt obligation given the current economic crisis.

“At this point, should we not awaken our conscience to stand for a profound and broad change? Is it not time we revisit these destructive socio-economic policies and join hands with a political movement capable of achieving this change? “ he questioned.

Dissanayake added that the National People’s Power (NPP) invites all to join the party to refine its proposals and become a partner in making them a reality.
