A child who was hospitalized following the Kinniya ferry tragedy last week, passed away this morning (28), the police informed.
The police said that a 6-year-old girl being treated at the intensive care unit of the Trincomalee general hospital succumbed to her injuries.
With this death, the total death toll from the ferry accident in Kurunjankeni Lagoon in Kinniya which took place on the 23rd of this month has risen to 7.
Previously, a 70-year-old male, a 30-year-old woman and her 6-year-old son and 3 1/2 year old daughter and two sisters from the same family had passed away due to this tragedy. (NewsWire)
