Several persons have been reported missing after a ferry transporting passengers had capsized in the Kuringankerni area in Kinniya, Trincomalee today.
The Police said six children have reportedly drowned, while 11 people have been hospitalized with injuries.
The ferry is reported to have transported students at the time of the incident.
The Police said search operations are underway to rescue the missing people. (NewsWire)
