Consultant physician Prof. Ranil Jayawardena has confirmed social media reports that he refused to treat Minister Prasanna Ranatunga at a private hospital yesterday.
Social media reports claimed that Dr. Jayawardena refused to see minister Ranatunga as a way of showing dissent against the government of ministers responsible for the current crisis in the country.
Speaking to a media institution via telephone, Prof. Jayawardena confirmed these media reports and said that he has the right to see or refuse to see any patient.
Commenting further, Doctor Jayawardena explained that he refused to treat minister Ranatunga whom he had seen a couple of times before, as a way of showing dissent against those who are responsible for the current crisis in the county which has affected lives of the general public in many ways.
