Police media spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana says that Police Narcotics Bureau has found close to Rs. 60 million of cash believed to be earned through drug dealings in a special operation last night.
During a special operation conducted by the Police Narcotics Bureau, 3 suspects have been arrested along with 300gm of heroin and Rs. 59,051,821 cash was found in the possession of one of these suspects.
The police media spokesman also said that this is the largest single haul of cash seized, believed to be money earned from smuggling of drugs in the country.
The special operation was conducted to nab drug dealers in Kaduwela, Malabe and Weliwita areas and their links to money earned from heroin trafficking, DIG Ajith Rohana further said.
He also said that one of the suspect arrested is the daughter of underworld leader “Soththi Upali”. (NewsWire)
