The IGP has issued RTM No. 999 to all police stations to permit Attorneys-at-Law to travel for Court Work (including between Districts) during periods of curfew.

Pursuant to representations made, the IGP has issued RTM No. 999 dated 28.04.2020 granting permission to Attorneys-at-Law to travel for Court Work subject to certain conditions, which are as follows :-
1. Permission has been granted to use the BASL Identity Card and any other acceptable proof of identification as a curfew pass when travelling to areas not designated as ‘risk areas’ for Court Work.
2. Similar to above, permission has been granted to use the BASL Identity Card and any other acceptable proof of identification as a curfew pass when travelling within a District designated as a ‘risk area’ for Court Work.
3. If it is required to go across the boundary of a District designated as a ‘risk area’ when travelling for Court Work, then a curfew pass should be obtained from the relevant Police Station. In such an instance, a curfew pass will be issued when the respective Attorney-at-Law submits a self-signed and stamped letter confirming that the respective case is to be taken up in the respective Court House and the said Attorney is appearing for the same.
4. Permission shall not be granted to travel from an area designated as a ‘Lock Down area’ in respect of which travelling has been completely prohibited.
