Lohan Ratwatte is back, heads SLPP Batticaloa meeting

State Minister Lohan Ratwatte today chaired the SLPP Batticaloa District Leaders’ meeting, held at SLPP’s Main Party Office in Batticaloa.

Ratwatte, who was subjected to controversy regarding incidents which took place in Welikada and Anuradhapura prison premises earlier this month, was not seen in public events as he maintained a low profile during the past two weeks.

Following the accusations directed at him for allegedly storming the prison premises and threatening prisoners with a firearm, Ratwatte resigned from his portfolio of State Minister of Prison Management and Prisoners Rehabilitation Affairs, allowing for an impartial inquiry. (NewsWire)
