Lucky Susil, a prominent nail therapist and artist recently opened his salon down Vajira Road, Bambalapitiya. For years he has been attached to multiple leadings salons, and later decided to shift focus in opening his salon venture this year.
Through his work as a nail artist, he has travelled to several countries and has participated in many competitions. Lucky’s work has been recognized by many beauty brands which have signed him on to represent them.
“I have more than 20 years of experience and I have worked in many salons in Sri Lanka and overseas. It was a dream of mine to start my own salon and have a brand named after me. The process took time, but I reached one of my destinations. I have many more destinations to travel and I am working towards it”.
Lucky’s Salon provides the latest and best service. It’s not only nails, services have proceeded to wax, facials, hair and makeup.
“It’s hard to run only on nail art for a startup. Even though I am known for nails, I did something to sustain myself, the staff and the business. During these times, sustainability of the business is very important. At the salon, everything is in accordance with health and safety guidelines. With too many lockdowns and travel restrictions, it has been so hard, but we have somehow made it through”.
The salon has completed three months and Lucky Susil hopes to introduce more services once the country is fully open. He wants to train aspiring nail artists, and want them to get the same global exposure as he did.
