Former Sri Lanka Cricket captain Mahela Jayawardana took to Twitter to respond to some social media posts which criticised him and Kumar Sangakkara for not representing Sri Lanka in the Road Safety World Series.
“This is a exhibition tournament to promote road safety in india.. not a international tournament and people are getting paid to play in this.. I personally had other commitments to my family during this period. I hope this will clear what ever misguided information Being posted.” Mahela Jayawardana said on Twitter.
Social media posts inferred that Mahela Jayawardana and Kumar Sangakkara had refused to play in the tournament representing Sri Lanka.
