A systematic amendment to the price of milk powder may be implemented in the near future, Media spokesman to the Milk Powder Importers Association Ashoka Bandara has said.
Addressing the media, he said when milk powder prices were revised in October 2021 the price of milk powder had increased in the world market and is now currently 10% more than what it was during that period.
Ashoka Bandara revealed that the existing shortage of milk powder will continue for another month or two.
The shortage of dollars to purchase milk powder which has resulted in being unable to obtain a Letter of Credit (LOC), delay in shipments, and taxes have been identified as the main causes for a shortage of milk powder in Sri Lanka. (NewsWire)
