An earth tremor was reported in the Pallekele area in Kandy today (02).
The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau said that the earth tremor was recorded at 07.06 a.m.
The earth tremor was recorded in the Mahakanadarawa seismic station.
It is yet to be ascertained if the tremor was caused due to an earthquake or any other reason.
The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau has launched an investigation to identify the cause for the earth tremor.
Earlier, a minor earth tremor was also reported in parts of Kandy, mainly in Haragama and Digana on Sunday (30). (Newswire)
