A 51-year-old man has sustained injuries after being shot in the Modara area last night (Feb 13).
The Police said the victim, who is a resident of Colombo 14, was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital following the shooting.
Investigations have revealed that the victim was employed as a manager of a restaurant on Modara Road and had been shot while standing near the gate of the restaurant.
The unidentified gunmen had arrived in a car and carried out the shooting after which they had fled the area.
Preliminary investigations reveal that a pistol had been used for the shooting, while the cause for the attack has not been ascertained yet.
The Modara Police has launched investigations to apprehend the suspects. (NewsWire)
