The Serjeant-at-Arms of the Parliament of Sri Lanka has informed all Parliamentarians that they have been cleared to receive the Covid-19 vaccination from tomorrow (16).
Narendra Fernando said the MPs have been asked to visit the Army Hospital in Colombo from 8.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon on the 16, 17, 18 & 19 of February, 2021 to receive the vaccine.
The Government today announced that it will commence administering the COVID-19 vaccine to a selected group of the public from today.
Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said people from the Western Province will be vaccinated first under the programme.
He said the group to be vaccinated have been identified as those who interact closely with the public and those facing high risks of infection.
The Head of the National Covid Task Force said the vaccination process commenced today on the instructions of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. (NewsWire)
