Indian actor Vijay Sethupathi will play Sri Lankan off-spinner Muthiah Muralidaran in the latter’s biopic.
The makers of the biopic announced the film today with an official poster. Directed by MS Sripathy, the film is based on the life and struggle of cricketing legend Muthiah Muralidaran. The sports-drama is jointly produced by Movie Train Motion Pictures and Dar Motion Pictures.
The official poster assures that the makers will be sharing new announcements in the future. “Vijay Sethupathi is Muthiah Muralidaran,” read the poster, which has a photo of the cricketer’s bowling action.
In an earlier interview, Vijay Sethupathi said, “I am happy to be associated with the Muthiah Muralitharan biopic. He is an iconic sportsman of Tamil origin and someone who has made his mark across the world. Portraying the role of Murali is going to be a challenge for me and I am looking forward to it.” (Indian Express)
