A new Gazette notification has been published amending the Quarantine Ordinance making it compulsory to obtain prior approval from relevant authorities for gatherings, activities, and events.
The amendments have been made relating to a gathering, activity, or event held within or outside a Covid infected locality.
As per the Gazette, the relevant authority for the whole of Sri Lanka, may from time to time, take decisions in this regard for a period determined by the said authority.
They can decide on the place of gathering, activity, event or similar place of meeting and, setting, structure or outline thereof ;
The relevant authority can decide on the maximum number of persons or, allowable capacity or percentage of total capacity permitted to participate in such place of gathering, activity event or similar place of meeting.
The Gazette says legal action will be initiated against anyone violating the new regulations. (NewsWire)
