The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) has announced additional measures for passengers arriving in Sri Lanka during the coronavirus pandemic.
A notice issued by the Authority said all incoming passengers, including Sri Lankan passport holders and foreign passport holders, have to obtain prior approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Sri Lanka Mission of the respective country in order to enter into Sri Lanka during this period.
The CAASL said such approvals will be sent directly to its office, following which it will be directed to the respective airline to issue tickets for such approved passengers.
The Authority said it has set up [email protected], as the dedicated email address for passenger approvals with effect from 6 January, 2021 and all approvals will be handled through this email address.
The CAASL also requested all passengers to refrain from emailing any other officer’s mail address for any passenger approvals.
It further clarified that the passenger approvals are not visas and it has been implemented only due to the prevalent pandemic situation. (NewsWire)
