National Carrier Sri Lankan Airlines has announced that all future registrations of Sri Lankans for repatriation charter flights will be conducted only with Sri Lankan Airlines offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
A number of Sri Lankans who were stranded in the UAE due to the COVID-19 pandemic have been calling on the Sri Lankan Government to facilitate their repatriation.
The repatriation process which was launched by the Government was twice temporarily halted due to the coronavirus outbreak at the Kandakadu Rehabilitation Centre and the General Elections 2020.
As the repatriation process has recommenced, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi and the Consular General office in Dubai together with Sri Lankan Airlines have made a special announcement for those who wish to return to Sri Lanka. (Newswire)
