The All Ceylon Nurses’ Union has decided to engage in a trade union action for two days from tomorrow (May 31) morning.
General Secretary of the All Ceylon Nurses’ Union told reporters that trade union action is been launched due to the failure to provide proper solutions to several issues faced by nurses engaged in COVID-19 treatment.
“All our members will report sick leave from tomorrow morning to June 01” he added.
Earlier this month All Ceylon Nurses’ Union complained about a shortage of safety equipment (PPE) including surgical masks in the hospital system in the country.
The Union had reportedly handed over a list of eight demands which they wanted the Government to meet to avoid this campaign from going ahead.(NewsWire)
