Sri Lanka has a recorded an income of US $ 355.4 million through workers’ remittances in the month of October 2022, as per the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL)
It is a slight decrease compared to September 2022 where US $ 359 million was recorded as foreign worker remittances.
Accordingly, the cumulative value of remittances from January to October 2022 stands at USD 2929.4 million.
This value is much lower than the remittances figures recorded in the same period in 2021, where a sum of US $ 4894.4 million was recorded from January to October. (NewsWire)
