Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has signed the no-confidence motion against the Government and the impeachment motion to be submitted against the President.
“WITHOUT CHANGE, WE WILL NOT STOP. @sjbsrilanka signing of No Confidence Motion & Impeachment Motion. Constitutional Amendment to abolish Executive Presidency & Repeal 20th Amendment on the way.” Sajith Premadasa tweeted.
The SJB has backed the public’s calls for President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and his Government to step down over the failed economy of Sri Lanka.
The opposition party informed Parliament during its last session that a no-confidence motion and impeachment motion will be submitted against the President and his Government.
The SJB commenced collecting signatures for the no-confidence motion thereafter, with several opposition MPs signing. (NewsWire)
