Over 650 delegates have arrived from India to attend the Tata Steel and Tata Tiscon Annual Dealer Conference which will be held in Colombo today.
The group arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday (06) and received a warm welcome at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake.
The event will be inaugurated by Sri Lanka Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardene together with the High Commissioner for India to Sri Lanka Gopal Baglay.
The conference and logistics are being handled by Tata Steel’s main dealer and representative in South India, the VNC Group.
Tata’s decision to hold the conference in Sri Lanka is a demonstration of Indian companies’ willingness to support the economic recovery of Sri Lanka.
Tata Steel forms part of the Tata Group which is India’s largest conglomerate operating in over 150 countries.
It is one of the world’s most geographically diversified steel producers with operations that are fully integrated – from mining to the manufacturing and marketing of finished products. (NewsWire)
