Pakistan election early results show Imran Khan’s PTI-affiliated candidates taking a narrow lead, followed by PMLN and PPP contenders, Aljazeera reported.
Of the 156 National Assembly results announced by the country’s election oversight body as of late Friday afternoon, candidates backed by Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party had won 62 seats. The Pakistan Muslim League of his rival, three-time former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, had 46 seats, Associate Press reported.
