Palm oil dispute with Indonesia & Malaysia resolved

Sri Lanka has resolved a dispute with Indonesia and Malaysia pertaining to the ban imposed on palm oil, the Daily Mirror reported.

Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardane said the dispute was resolved after Sri Lanka agreed to permit imports of refined, quality palm oil.

The envoys of the two countries have reportedly called on the Minister to raise objections to the ban, citing that it was a violation of the World Trade Organisation Agreement.

Minister Gunawardena said however the matter was resolved after it was agreed to permit imports of refined, quality palm oil to Sri Lanka. (NewsWire)
